Enable The Default Tumblr Theme for Mobile Devices

Tumblr blogs used to look awful when navigating from an iPhone or Android device, but since tumblr staff designed a default Tumblr Mobile theme for such Phone OS, they look much better and are easier to navigate.

And, just in case you were wondering how that Tumblr Mobile Layout View looks right from your laptop or PC browser, you won’t be able to do it. You need to visit your blog directly from an iPhone or Android phone in order to see it.

How To Enable View for The Default Tumblr Mobile Theme

  1. Go To your Tumblr Blog >> Customize Theme >> Scroll Down through the Left Sidebar until your Find the option ADVANCED.
  2. Click on ADVANCED and check the box Use Optimized Mobile Layout (This will override your theme with a special layout optimized for browsing on mobile devices like iPhone and Android.)
  3. Sometimes, and due to some monitor’s resolutions, the option ADVANCED could be almost hidden at the bottom of the screen even if you keep scrolling, if you don’t see it at all, just hide temporarily any extra toolbar that you might have in your browser (Firefox, Chrome, Opera, IE, Safari).

How To Create a Custom Tumblr Mobile Theme?

The default theme can indeed be customized to your own needs to create a personalized version of your Tumblr iPhone theme (or Android theme). However, doing this requires certain level of knowledge of CSS, HTML and JavaScript. we still have to see a Tumblr Mobile Theme Garden, since we can’t choose so far tumblr mobile layouts from there, not even paid ones.

    I saw some Tumblr Mobile themes, is this means if i use them, i can add some Ads for mobile too?
