How To Hide the Following Section from your Tumblr Theme

If you want to hide/remove/delete/take out the Following section from your Tumblr Theme sidebar you just need to edit the hmlt or your Tumblelog. This way you make sure that noone will be able to see who you are following.

If what you are looking for is just the opposite, then you might want to take a look at our guide; How to show who you follow on a Tumblr Theme.

How To Stop Displaying Your Followers on your Tumblr

  1. Go to Customize Theme >> Edit HTML.
  2. Copy the whole code in there and paste it in a notepad, just in case you make a mistake.
  3. Find the following code in the theme using control+F in your browser {block:Following} or {block:Followed}
  4. Now, that particular tag is the beginning of that section, we must also find out where it ends, which is this code {/block:Following}.  As you see the only difference is the / slash.
  5. Finally delete everything that is within {block:Following} {/block:Following}, Including those tags themselves!.

Done, you have just removed the following section from your Tumblr theme, rest asure that noone will see who you are following.

    I am thinking in start using Tumblr for Business purposes, so, making sure I will be able to hide the profiles of actual Clients and Suppliers (who may be using Tumblr) from the eyes of the competition is something I wanted to do before start using Tumblr.

    I like the fact that you can easily hide your contacts on Google Plus, so I was hoping there could be a way to hide “my” Followers on Tumblr too. Hope it could be as easy as doing so just as in G+ but I guess your tip may do the trick. Thanks.

    I don’t like to use Facebook for business, since there is “apparently” no way to hide your contacts/followers from third party eyes, which I consider to be not only a clear Privacy Violation – Tided up to Facebook’s unscrupulous Privacy Policy “either you accept using Facebook as we want or don’t use Facebook” – But it may also put your Business at Risk by making public all your clients and suppliers. I mean, is just seeing things from a different Prism.

    The point is: It is good to know you can hide, some how, your contacts on Tumblr – which again could be your business partners, investors, suppliers and contacts – and keep them away from “The Competition”

    Good Tip! Thanks!
