    I don’t think I would ever post nude pictures up on such a popular site as tumblr to promote my blog. It’s cool if you do pornography or what not, I have nothing against that. But doing it for the sole purpose of getting more followers on a website is not a good idea if you are not considering the consequences of doing so.

    Thanks for the useful tips, I had not thought about looking at Tumblr’s own facebook page, and I see there’s always a constant stream of people who follow back. All the more resourceful since the newer posts must come from active Tumblr users instead of a random blog post that may have been submitted years ago.

    1. choose a specific topic for your blog.
    2. KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) – don’t overload your theme with lag causing instant play songs, sparkle effects and such. Choose a tumblr theme that has easy-to-read text and doesn’t chop your photos in half. Keep it neat looking. Dont use popups or redirects or annoying ads.
    3. choose a tumblr url that reflects your blog topic.
    4. keep adult images and videos seperated to their own blogs. nobody wants to see your porn stash unless they’re looking for it specifically, right?

    take your blog to followerblast.com or another tumblr follow site and promote it and let people know you follow back (if you do)

    I gain about 1000 followers per month with this method.

    If you spam facebook public pages with your tumblr link you will get banned from posting on public sites on facebook.

    If you put nude or inappropriate pics up you will not be able to register for many pay per click ad providers like google adsense.

    Post what you like, I dont understand the point of having followers that don’t like what you post or having a dashboard full of crap due to “follow back” schemes.
