How To Add a Grooveshark Playlist Widget on Tumblr

Grooveshark remains the most popular widget music player for Tumblr. Given that it has almost every song and album track you ever heard of, for free, it’s obviously the first choice for Tumblr users when adding music playlists (autoplay or not) on their tumblr blogs.

Even though grooveshark widgets have been there for quite a while, the way you obtain the grooveshark playlist code has changed a bit.

Follow the tutorial below to learn how to create a Tumblr Grooveshark Widget.

How to Put a Grooveshark Music Widget Player on Tumblr

  1. Go to grooveshark and create an sign up for an account (this way you will be able to save your playlists and create new ones.)
  2. Create the playlist you want to include in Grooveshark Widget for Tumblr. IMPORTAN: Click on save changes and make sure you are not selecting any song after that. No track should be highlighted

  3. Click on SHARE and then, from the pop up menu, choose MORE (green icon). After that, click on EMBED.

  4. Now, Choose Width, Height and Color for the widget [you can manually edit the plugin if you want to]

  5. Copy the Grooveshark Widget EMBED CODE
  6. Paste the Grooveshark Player in the description box or whenever you want within your theme’s HTML, between the opening and closing body tag. Since all themes are different among each other, I cannot tell you specifically where, just try until you are satisfied with the plugin positioning.
  7. Check our own Tumblr Grooveshark Widget on autoplay at mrtumblring.tumblr.com

How to Make Grooveshark Widget Player Autoplay on Tumblr?

How do you actually set the player to be an automatic playlist or no?

  1. Check your Grooveshark Widget Code and look for six consecutive letters followed by =0 (e.g. 666666&p=0, check the screenshot below). Change both 0s for 1s

I’ve made my playlist and clicked share. I clicked More on the pop up menu and afterwards clicked Embed but this is what it said “Sorry! Widgets for multiple songs aren’t quite done yet. Check back soon!”

so I got it working fine it auto plays and its where i want it to be the only problem now is that my tumblr is on infinite scroll because it wouldn’t make sense to have music start all over again every time i click next on a page, but anyways the problem is that once i reach the bottom of my screen and it loads more images the song starts over again but in the background so i can have 5 songs playing at once which sounds just like a jumble of sounds and words. any way to fix this?

It worked wonderfully, but it didn’t give me the option to change the colour of the playlist box!

I keep doing this step by step, and it worked at first, but then I went to add another song, did it again and now it won’t show on my page. I even put the original code, and nothing. Whenever I hit save, I go back to the page, it won’t be there. And when I hit Customize again, the description box is empty, like I never added anything in the first place.
