Change and Create a Tumblr Customized Dashboard Background

If you are kinda tired of  seeing the same old blue dashboard, there’s one way of changing and customizing Tumblr’s dashboard background.  This is only for Firefox and Chrome users, and We haven’t tested it in Internet Explorer.  Through a addon the user is able to choose from many available Tumblr Dashboard backgrounds.

How to Change Tumblr Dashboard Bakground.

For Firefox Users.

  1. First of all, go here and install the GreaseMonkey script.  Restart your browser.
  2. Now go here, and choose the customized Tumblr dashboard, click on it.
  3. One in the personalized Tumblr Dashboard Theme, you will see an option on the right that says greasemonkey users can install this as a script, go for it.
  4. In firefox, go to Tools >> GreaseMonkey >> Manage Userscripts and choose and choose again the one you had previously installed.
  5. Visit your Tumblr dashboard and now it should be displaying the customized background.

For Chrome Users.

  1. Same steps as above but in Chrome, don’t need to manage scripts in Tools >>> Extensions.

In firefox, go to Tools >> GreaseMonkey >> Manage Userscripts and choose and choose again the one you had previously installed.

This is the only script I have, and it is default “chosen” in the Manage Userscripts windowbox, so I’m not sure how I’m supposed to “and chose again”. Everything is enabled and should work, but my dashboard has not changed at all. I’ve restarted FireFox after installing the script, jic, but no dice. I suspect the problem is something I am not doing right in the Manage Userscripts windowbox but I’m obviously not sure. :(

    not very helpful.
for the firefox, it gets confusing because once in the greasemonkey manual script pop up settings when you click the desired one, it remains unchanged when reloaded. :/ any suggestions?

“Manage Userscripts and choose and choose again the one you had previously installed.”
This sentence makes no sense to me at all. What does “choose and choose again” mean?
I didn’t have any script previously installed, I’m just trying to get a pretty bakground on my dashboard. I can see on the greasemonkey page thingy that I have the script installed, but I can’t use it for anything. All I can do is turn it on and off. I can’t for the life of me get this to work. Nothing is happening on my tumblr dashboard.

I’m a Firefox user, and when I click on “greasemonkey users can install this as a script” a page with a bunch of script comes up, but nothing prompts me to install it. How do I get it to install?

I don’t know why, but it doesn’t work for me. I think it’s a problem with the stylish database but I don’t know how to solve it.

went on the website (step 2) and going for a theme, but then i had to install “Stylish” instead NOT greasemonkey, so i think you should point that out that some might ask to install stylish instead.. depending on what theme u chose.
