Tumblr Pictures in Text Posts

There are two methods of inserting pictures, photos and images in your Tumblr text posts.  You will learn how to center these pics and adjust their size exactly the way you want, displaying them correctly in your dashboard as well. This tutorial explains the difference between pics hosted on Tumblr and somewhere else, and also the right way of sizing the image if it’s really huge and you want to link to it.

Uploading Photos to Tumblr Text Posts.

  • If your theme has the proper tags, you should go to Customize >>> Advanced and enable the option Enable high-res photos.
  • First, the image size that you see in your tumblr text post can never exceed the post width, otherwise it would break the theme.
  • When you upload an image to Tumblr in a text post, it gets resized to fit the post width, so if you still want the original size to be seen, then host it somewhere else, for example Image Hack.  If you want the original size picture hosted in tumblr, do it through a photo post.
  • So, upload both to Tumblr and another Hosting Site, one to display the image in your tumblr text post the other one to be seen in its original size.
