If you follow many different topics on Tumblr and need an easier method other than bookmarking the results, you can just use the track tag function that Tumblr offers.  Read the following short guide.

How to Track Tags on Tumblr.

1. Visit the following URL (replace the word keyword with your tag, and in case there’s more than one use the + sign. Example /keyword1+keyword2) http://www.tumblr.com/track_tag/keyword
2. Click on the Track This Tag button on the right side of your dashboard
3. You can now follow all your Tumblr Tracked tags directly from your dashboard and see when they’ve been updated since they have a counter right next to each one.

This is just a small guide for Tumblr Newbies.  Using Tumblr search for a particular keyword is easy, but the results can be frustrating, if you search Tumblr regularly, you will surely know that many of the words, don’t even appeared tagged in the posts shown, so is not clear as to how Tumblr considers and relates a search and the results.

How to Use Tumblr Search Feature.

1. By default, Tumblr will look for a tag/keyword in your dashboard, so you need to click on the search icon and choose between Tumblr, Help, Dashboard and Your Own Posts.
2. The direct url for general purpose search is http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/yourkeyword

The most recent improvement on on Tumblr Search Engine is tag curated pages. In order to help users discover new content, some topics (or tags) have each started to be curated by a team of fellow Tumblrers. (don’t ask us how they are chosen).  So far the curated tags are News, Fashion and Long Reads (long articles).

Another good idea would be to check trending tags and also the ability to do an advanced search, by date, followers, reblogs, likes and more.
