Can’t Login to Tumblr with Firefox

If you are having trouble logging in to your Tumblr account when using Firefox (even when you know that password and username are correct), the problem is always related to two main things; Cookies and Firefox Version. What could also happen is that once you are inside Tumblr Dashboard, you get logged out to the loging screen again, or when trying to perform anything there you get the message “Please make sure you have cookies enabled in your browser”.  Read the tutorial below to fix the Tumblr Firefox loging Issue.

Can’t Login to Tumblr with Firefox – Solution.

  1. Download the latest Firefox Version here.
  2. Once installed, go to Tools and choose Clear Recent History, Check all Items and Delete the entire range of data.
  3. Now it’s time to check how cookies are configured.  Go to Tools >> Options.
  4. Select the Privacy Tab, from the dropdown menu, choose Firefox Will: Use Custom Settings for History
  5. Check Accept Cookies from All Sites and also Accept Third Party Cookies.  From the dropdown menu, choose Keep Until: They Expire
  6. Now, click on exceptions, and verify that Tumblr.com is not in the list.
  7. Click OK to close the window.

If you keep having issues to sign in to Tumblr with Firefox after taking all these steps, leave a message describing your problem.

Doesn’t work for me. I was originally using Internet Explorer and Tumblr always used to work for me, then recently when i tried to log in it opened a new window and asked me to download a file. Then I downloaded Firefox, it worked fine until recently, when i type all my stuff in, the box log in box shakes and refreshes.

This has been regular ever since they updated their site.

I have done all the steps listed, but I still can’t get past the login in screen. I know that the info is correct because I can open tumblr on Chrome. I would try “Pausing Ghostery”, but I don’t know what that is or how to do it. Please help.

It’s still doing the exact same thing as before- I enter my email and password, click log in, it loads, but then it takes me back to the log in screen.

If you use Ghostery with Tumblr you’ll need to ALLOW (i.e. uncheck) the Cookie_Widgets Block for Tumblr.

Did everything you said, cleared my cookies, cache, and all that fun stuff. Made sure my firefox was up to date, my password has been reset, turned off ghostery and adblock. And still I can’t seem to log in. I’ve got adblock and ghostery on chrome but I can log in with that browser just fine. I don’t know what’s going on here. Help?

I switched to Firefox recently and now I’m having a problem. I followed the steps listed but I still get sent to the ‘Page isn’t redirecting properly’. I don’t know what else to do! It only happens every so often, my ability to get to my dashboard keeps going in and out. It’s really frustrating.

I used to be able to use tumblr. but since my computer crased and its all kind of reset it does not work anymore. I followed all instructions above. But it still does not work. Whenever I delete my history and cookies and all I can access the first page. When I click log in then and give in my stuff to finally log in it always says “Not found. We couldn’t find the page you were looking for. Find out why you may have encountered this error.” when I click that then it only shows lots of cryptic writing that does not make any sense to me…
Does anyone have an idea what to do? I really miss my tumblr….
    Thanx

I did what you said but it doesn’t work at all :( It seems like the site won’t even respond to me clicking on the login button because even if I put the wrong data in, it won’t do anything. It doesn’t even load or tell me I used the wrong password.

I checked the tools, and everything was already set to this. When I log in, it seems like it is signing in, but then gives the message There was a problem logging in, try again later. I used to not sign out, then one day I did and I haven’t been able to log in since.

I have done the above steps several times and still no luck. As the page looks like it’s about to load and let me in, there’s a link at the bottom of the page that is loading and telling me that I’m being redirected to opt.dealply.com and several other sites that were going to quickly for me to catch. Any ideas on what to do to solve this.

My login issues are slightly different.. I’m most likely looking at a server issue, as my network likes to block random BS that partially screws with a website but somehow still allows access in a sense. I can view the main page and individual blogs perfectly fine, but when I try to log in gives error message

This issue has shown up and subsequently disappeared after perhaps a day, but this has been going on for the better part of a week, and wondering what is connected to such an event and if I can even hope to get it fixed.

https://www.tumblr.com/login?redirect_to=%2Fdashboard and I know my password is correct because there are no issues with Chrome. Help!

hi the tumbler keeps recycling back to log in page and I have to enter the log in name and password but its goes through its cycle then reverts back to the log in page again. I’m updated on Firefox and i tried cleaning the history and cookies but nothing then i try again so many times it suddenly works again. its like going through a revolving log in situation until it works. whats with the glitch on log in.

this has happen since i uploaded the new latest version of Fire Fox since my customs settings for history wont save and is going the screwy ride too. Firefox has lots of glitches for new versions lately. it must be the new private settings. im just guessing cause it keeps asking me if i want to have ff in private setting.

I’ve checked all of this and it was already set up that way, but I still can’t log in. When I try to log in it shows the loading thing for less than a second then goes back to the login page, it doesn’t say that I put my password in wrong it’s just like I didn’t even type anything in the first place.

I had this problem for ages and I tried the method mentioned above. It doesn’t work. But what works for me is disabling Ghostery Add-on, log in, and, voila, I’m in. If you still want to use Ghostery, just enable the add-on again once you’ve logged in. Then you can just go back to your dashboard, logged in, and happy.

    Fixed!

Tweaking the cookie/cache settings did nothing to solve the log-in redirect for me, but taking cue from the Ghostery mentions in this thread, I was finally able to access Tumblr after removing “Tumblr Dashboard” from my Ghostery block list. (Disabling Ghostery altogether is unnecessary.)
